Article I Convention Disputes arising out of the interpretation or application of theshall lie within the compulsory jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice and may accordingly be brought before the Court by an application made by any party to the dispute being a Party to the present Protocol. 1962 101 27-09-1962 1984 108 14-09-1984 07-10-1984

Article II The parties may agree, within a period of two months after one party has notified its opinion to the other that a dispute exists, to resort not to the International Court of Justice but to an arbitral tribunal. Article III 1 Within the same period of two months, the parties may agree to adopt a conciliation procedure before resorting to the International Court of Justice. 2 The conciliation commission shall make its recommendations within five months after its appointment. Article IV Convention Optional Protocol concerning Acquisition of Nationality States Parties to the, to the, and to the present Protocol may at any time declare that they will extend the provisions of the present Protocol to disputes arising out of the interpretation or application of the Optional Protocol concerning Acquisition of Nationality. Article V Convention The present Protocol shall be open for signature by all States which may become Parties to the, as follows: until 31 October 1961 at the Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Austria and subsequently, until 31 March 1962, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. 1962 101 27-09-1962 1984 108 14-09-1984 07-10-1984

Article VIII 1 Convention The present Protocol shall enter into force on the same day as theor on the thirtieth day following the date of deposit of the second instrument of ratification or accession to the Protocol with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, whichever day is the later. 2 For each State ratifying or acceding to the present Protocol after its entry into force in accordance with paragraph 1 of this Article, the Protocol shall enter into force on the thirtieth day after deposit by such State of its instrument of ratification or accession. 1962 101 27-09-1962 1984 108 14-09-1984 07-10-1984

Article IX Convention The Secretary-General of the United Nations shall inform all States which may become Parties to the: (a) of signatures to the present Protocol and of the deposit of instruments of ratification or accession, in accordance with Articles V, VI and VII; (b) of declarations made in accordance with Article IV of the present Protocol; (c) of the date on which the present Protocol will enter into force, in accordance with Article VIII. 1962 101 27-09-1962 1984 108 14-09-1984 07-10-1984

Article X The original of the present Protocol, of which the Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish texts are equally authentic, shall be deposited with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, who shall send certified copies thereof to all States referred to in Article V. 1962 101 27-09-1962 1984 108 14-09-1984 07-10-1984

Artikel II Partijen kunnen, binnen een termijn van twee maanden nadat de ene partij de andere haar mening heeft te kennen gegeven dat er een geschil bestaat, overeenkomen zich niet tot het Internationale Gerechtshof te wenden, doch tot een scheidsgerecht. Artikel III 1 Binnen dezelfde termijn van twee maanden kunnen partijen overeenkomen tot een verzoeningsprocedure over te gaan, alvorens zich tot het Internationale Gerechtshof te wenden. 2 De verzoeningscommissie doet haar aanbevelingen binnen vijf maanden nadat zij is ingesteld. Artikel IV Verdrag Facultatieve Protocol betreffende de verkrijging van nationaliteit De staten die partij zijn bij dit, bij het, alsmede bij dit Protocol, kunnen te allen tijde verklaren dat zij de bepalingen van dit Protocol zullen uitbreiden tot geschillen die voortvloeien uit de uitlegging of toepassing van het Facultatieve Protocol betreffende de verkrijging van nationaliteit. Artikel V Verdrag Dit Protocol staat open ter ondertekening door alle staten die partij kunnen worden bij het. Tot 31 oktober 1961 staat dit Protocol ter ondertekening open bij het Bondsministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken van Oostenrijk en na die datum, tot 31 maart 1962, bij de Verenigde Naties te New York. 1962 159 28-12-1962 1984 108 14-09-1984 07-10-1984

Artikel VIII 1 Verdrag Dit Protocol treedt in werking op dezelfde dag als hetof op de dertigste dag die volgt op de datum van nederlegging van de tweede akte van bekrachtiging van, of toetreding tot, het Protocol bij de Secretaris-Generaal van de Verenigde Naties, al naar gelang welke van deze twee data de laatste is. 2 Ten aanzien van elke staat die dit Protocol bekrachtigt of ertoe toetreedt nadat het overeenkomstig lid 1 van dit artikel in werking is getreden, treedt dit Protocol in werking op de dertigste dag na de datum waarop die staat zijn akte van bekrachtiging of toetreding heeft nedergelegd. 1962 159 28-12-1962 1984 108 14-09-1984 07-10-1984

Artikel IX Verdrag De Secretaris-Generaal van de Verenigde Naties doet alle staten die partij kunnen worden bij hetmededeling van: (a) de ondertekeningen van dit Protocol en de nederlegging van akten van bekrachtiging of toetreding overeenkomstig de artikelen V, VI en VII; (b) de overeenkomstig artikel IV van dit Protocol afgelegde verklaringen; (c) de datum waarop dit Protocol overeenkomstig artikel VIII in werking zal treden. 1962 159 28-12-1962 1984 108 14-09-1984 07-10-1984
